Our activities
Our activities present different aspects :
• The language : we teach songs and scenes belonging to the Provençal past.
• The traditions : we celebrate the old traditionnal festivities that had come to disappear :
Saint John's Fires, which celebrates the summer solstice,
The old jobs day, which presents to the population a large pannel of the ancient professions at the beginning of the XXth century (agricultural market, vegetables and fruit consignment, farrier, potter, chair bottomer, shepherd, apothecary, knife grinder …) and every day's life (at school, washhouse, in the fields, at home …), riding a bike or a horse. This day is animated by about 300 volunteers that we managed to motivate every year since 1988.
Following our will to revive the traditions of our region, we have established in 1996 a Provençal lotto which takes place every third Saturday in November. This lotto re-creates the atmosphere of the evening spent around the fire which our elders loved so much. We work in collaboration with a popular singer of our region who knows how to lead with humour, in French and in Provençal, a game composed with traditionnal prizes (regionnal products, china , linen, furniture of the olden times…) Our lotto is now a famous one in our region.
| We also make discover our culture by different displays (about the interior of old Provençal homes (the « mas »), traditionnal cooking, dressing, etc.) that we often organisate. |

But our first speciality is dancing.
L'Escolo di Tourre represented its town in many events :
• The celebration of the costume in Arles
• At the traditionnal festivities in our country
• At the folklore festival in Eyragues (South of France)
• At the folklore festival in Haguenau (East of France)
• At the fest noz in Pluneret ( Britain )
• At the folklore festival in Namur ( Belgium )
• At the Rhône festivities in Vevey ( Switzerland )
